Male Bullfinch

The male Bullfinch (Pyrrhula pyrrhula) is unmistakable due to it's bright pinky orange breast and cheeks. It competes with the male Chaffinch and the Goldfinch as the most colourful finch in Britain. They feed voraciously on the buds of various trees in spring and were once considered a 'pest' of fruit crops.
